It is going to be a big challenge for me and my friends. Pray for me especially as I start this new phase in my life and also for my teachers and Mr. Terrill and Mr. Wright who are leading us. I miss my parents and brother and sister too so pray for me! We get to go into Racine, WI soon to see the city and that should be alot of fun.

WI here I come!

Yesterday was a hard day for me as it was my last Sunday at church. My good friend Pastor Bob announced that it would be my last Sunday before I head to college. He even had me stand up during the service and also with him in the back at the end. It was a tough time saying goodbye to everyone. I know God is with me as I head to WI this Friday with my family. Last week I got a phone call from my new roommate. He is from NJ and his name is "Maxamillion Feranti" which is cool. He reminds me of my good friend Butch from NTBI in MI! I call him Max. We have talked alot over the phone this past week. He loves police, medical and watches COPS 2.0 too! Please continue to pray for me and my roommate, "Max" who is driving from NJ. Pray for the rest of the $$ to come in too. God has provided enough for me to get started so far. Thanks. Love - B-Dog!

I've been working with Mr. Clark Brown on our staff as he is helping me with some studies to help me prepare for college. He is so cool.

Yesterday I received a call from my new "roommate" at Shepherds. Max is his name and he is from the NE and sounded like a cool guy and I am excited to go soon. My family will drive me up to WI on Aug. 1st and it will be neat to get going. I am so excited about what God is doing to provide and take care of me! Keep praying for me and that the final committments of money will come in. 12 to go still. All for now...

My MI trip was awesome!

I had an awesome trip to MI with my family. My dad and mom spoke at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference center in Muskegon last week. It was so cool because I got to meet many new people and awesome new friends. Mr. Greg Speck was the speaker and he is awesome. I really like him and he spoke great to me. We went to see my uncle and aunt in Jackson, MI and I got to share some at our SS class too. I was nervous but God worked it out and many people liked what I had to say. God really helped me so much. God is providing for me to attend Shepherds so pray for me and the rest of the money to come in to. Pray for my roommate as I don't know who that will be.

Another cool thing happened to and that is it looks like I may be able to work at Maranatha next summer. Check it out at: www.VacationWithPurpose.org and you would love it.

Let me know if you want to be a part of what God is doing in my life starting this Aug. at Shepherds college! I now have 18 families and churches who have committed to help me go...an I am so thankful.

I love you God and thank you for friends and family.

Keep praying...

Thank you for your interest in my going to Shepherds College. I should know if I am officially accepted in June. My parents and the director don't think this should be a problem as all of my paperwork is just completed. And my shots are done too! I am really excited about this opportunity to go to college in WI. It will also be near my friends at Waukesha, WI and my Grandpa in IL.

The students leave our campus this week. I always hate that but it is part of life. I'm glad to have my brother back from college now. It is cool to have Kevin around the house. By for now.

Praise God for His Provisions!

9 - 30 = 21 TO GO! (May 13, 2008)

We are grateful for the fantastic start and committment of 9 families who believe God is leading them to be one of our "30 families committed to $1000 a year" to change the life of one of God's dear lambs!

Thank you for your faithful prayers as God has raised up 8 precious families so far who have committed to giving Brian a new opportunity to go to Shepherds College.

With a total of 30 needed and 9 now committed, would you pray for the remaining 21 needed to meet the goal of $30,000 for Brian to attend Shepherds College.

We are awed and humbled by God and His people who have stepped forward as part of "getting the Gospel out to the Lost and Serving the Least" through the potential training of one of His sheep! Humbled today...

Find out more by clicking below to new Shepherds College website.

30 families needed for $1000.00 each = $30,000 (or however, God may lead)

21 still needed for a total of $21,000.00

HAS MY PACKAGE COME IN YET?

May 1, 2008

by Dave Meyers

Lumps in our throats and tears in our eyes were the outcome of those words this past week.

You see....Brian can't wait for God to provide for Him to attend Shephards College. His excitement is contagious and His faith is convicting.

Recently, he said to Carolyn and I, "has my package come in yet? I know God will provide!" Wow - we were blessed. Carolyn and I have met with the leadership of Shepherds about the possibility of Brian starting this unique college this fall - Aug. '08.

Brian and Carolyn were able to visit the campus recently and meet with the director and some of the staff. He was able to also visit the landscaping and horticulture areas of the campus. We are completing his application. Our entire family is excited about this possibility.

The PLAN: We have been encouraged by Shepherds to contact several of our churches and ministry partners about their starting a special scholarship fund for Brian. Several of our supporting churches and ministry partners are discussing this and praying about this new opportunity. We will keep you posted on the outcome of these discussions.

We have contacted many of our family, friends, churches and ministry partners. All have given us a great deal of encouragement to move forward. The door is open. Yet, there are some huge challenges. One of which is,,,

The COST: $30,000.00 a year!

We are praying for God's provision of 30 - $1000.00 a year special "Shepherds College" ministry partners for Brian. We are praying for some churches to consider this special challenge.

As of the first week of May, 4 families have stepped forward to commit to being a part of this new opportunity.

30 needed, 5 committed with 25 to go! We would value your prayers for this and ask you to pray for God's clear leading and miraculous provision.

Please let us know what you think about this new opportunity and if you would like to be a part of impacting the life of one of God's precious lambs!

Shepherds College!

NEW BEGINNINGS. ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES.

April 9, 2008

by Dave Meyers

It has been an incredible 19 year journey with our precious son - Brian. He has developed into a very compassionate and caring young man who loves the Lord Jesus and everyone he meets. His heart continues to be tender towards the things of God and serving Him in the future. All who come in contact with him never forget their encounter. God is good and His Grace never ceases to amaze us.

Recently, we have been made aware of a wonderful opportunity for his future preparation for life and ministry. We never thought we would have a chance like this for our son.

Shepherds Ministries
in Union Grove, WI has been serving the developmental disabled community for over 50 years. (Carolyn's precious sister, Krista, has lived here for 37 years).

We are grateful that Shepherds has decided to start a new breakthrough opportunity for young adults with developmental disabilities.

As one of the nation's leading providers of compassionate Christian care and vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities, Shepherds Ministries is excited to introduce Shepherds College. A three year post-secondary educational program designed to assist young adults in the successful transition from school to work/ministry and from home to independent living.

Shepherds College (the website will be on-line in the next week) is a new program of education and independence for adults. Until now, there has never been an educational program designed specifically to help these young adults reach their potential for appropriate independence in their work, home and society.

The college will provide the additional life and career skills needed for these young people and their families to take their dreams to the next level.

It is a residential campus, with a comprehensive curriculum. Set on the campus of Shepherds Ministries there will be an emphasis on the Bible, appropriate independence and vocational training focused on careers in the fields of horticulture and culinary arts.

If you know anything about Brian - horticulture is his thing. He is excited about this new historic opportunity to be trained and challenged in his walk with the Lord and work and ministry skills. His desire is to return after his training and serve the Lord and students on our Missionary Training Center campus here on the Lake of the Ozarks!
